Quality assurance

The Public Agency for accreditation of Higher Education (PAAHE) in Albania was established under the decision of Council of Ministers No. 303, dated 01.07.1999.
Currently PAAHE, performs its activity based on DCM No. 424, dated 02.06.2012 "On approval of regulation for the accreditation system, organization and operation of institutions of external quality assurance", as amended.
Public Accreditation Agency for Higher Education is an institution with a public legal person status, under the Minister of Education and Sports. Its organizational structure is approved by order of the Prime Minister with the proposal of the Minister of Education and Sports. The number of employees of the Agency is within the number of employees approved for MES. PAAHE is founded by the state budget allocated to the Ministry of Education and Sports and fees for services performed by the Agency, defined by Joint Instruction no. 29/1 dated 16.08.2011 of Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Education and Sports. Public Accreditation Agency of Higher Education collaborates with the network of quality assurance agencies in the European area of higher education.

Albania - Diploma Supplement - sample

This sample of Diploma Supplement follows the model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES.
The purpose of the supplement is to provide sufficient independent data to improve the international 'transparency' and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc).
It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended. It should be free from any value judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition.

Albanian Law on HE - 2007

This law provides for the mission, main goals of higher education and regulates aspects related to the establishment, organization, administration, management, financing, and quality assurance in Institutions of Higher Education of higher education in the Republic of Albania, in compliance with the European standards as well as determine the role of the state and the society regarding higher education.
