The 2015 Bologna Ministerial Conference – Yerevan, Armenia
date: 30 January 2012Following the BFUG meeting in Copenhagen, on 18-19 January 2012, the Bologna Follow-Up Group agreed upon recommending to the EHEA Ministers to endorse Armenia as the host of the 2015 Ministerial Conference, while also hosting the BFUG Secretariat for the 2012-2015 timeframe.

On 8-9 December 2011, the Bologna Seminar on Student Participation in Higher Education Governance took place in Aghveran, Armenia.
The seminar was organized jointly by the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, the Council of Europe and European Students Union
The objective of the seminar was to look into current issues of student participation in higher education governance, from institutional to national and international levels, outlining the main problems and obstacles, looking for examples of good practice and proposing a way forward, as it was defined in the Background document of the seminar.

Highlights and conclusions: Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference

On 17-19 October 2011, Romania organised the first edition of the “Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference” (FOHE-BPRC) in Bucharest with the support of the European University Association (EUA) and the Romanian National Committee for UNESCO. The conference aimed at bringing the researchers voice into higher education as well as the experience of various actors active in international level policy making.
The innovative character of this event was given by the unprecedented opportunity for researchers dealing with higher education to interact and contribute to the political process shaping the European Higher Education Area.
Berlin Declaration on the Social Dimension. Recommendations for strong student affairs and services in Europe

Following the Berlin international Bologna conference on “Developing the Social Dimension – Stocktaking and Future Perspectives in Student Affairs”, the Berlin declaration on the Social Dimension was launched. In view of the forthcoming Ministerial Conference in 2012 the document presents a number of recommendations for strong student affairs and services in Europe, while calling for an inclusive and diverse, yet strong and efficient social infrastructure of higher education.
Final report of the International conference on Funding of Higher Education, Yerevan, Armenia, 8-9 September 2011

On 8-9 September 2011, the International conference on Funding of Higher Education took place in Yerevan, Armenia.
The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia under the auspices of the Polish-Armenian co-Chairship of the Bologna Process and supported by the World Bank.
The conference aimed at providing a platform for exchange of experiences regarding issues related to funding of higher education in the European Higher Education Area.

Future of Higher Education - Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference (FOHE-BPRC), Bucharest, 17-19 October 2011

The Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports and the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI) will organize the “Future of Higher Education - Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference” (FOHE-BPRC) in Bucharest on 17-19 October 2011.
The event is aimed at bringing the researchers voice into higher education international level policy making. The results of the FOHE-BPRC will be presented to the participants attending the 2012 ministerial events both in written format, as well as via a presentation made by the General Rapporteur.
EIT Conference: Youth and Entrepreneurship – Drivers of Innovation

The EIT is organizing its next conference: Youth and Entrepreneurship – Drivers of Innovation. The event, under the auspice of the Polish Presidency of the Council, will take place in Krakow on 19 to 21 October 2011.
The overall aim of the conference is to promote an entrepreneurial mindset and culture in Europe and to receive input to further develop the EIT’s entrepreneurship and education agenda.

European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, and in line with the university’s continuous commitment to teaching excellence and advancement of the social sciences and humanities, Central European University (CEU) would like to contribute to promoting teaching excellence in Europe by initiating a European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The main objectives of the Award are to stimulate a greater recognition of the value of teaching in higher education on the European level, and to offer a constructive approach to complementing the research focus currently dominating higher education policies.
