MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE BUCHAREST 2012

The 2012 Bucharest Ministerial Conference is expected to bring together 47 European Higher Education Area ministerial delegations, the European Commission, as well as the Bologna Process consultative members and Bologna Follow-Up Group partners. The meeting will be an opportunity to take stock of progress of the Bologna Process and set out the key policy issues for the future. The EHEA ministers will jointly adopt the Bucharest Ministerial Communiqué, committing to further the Bologna goals until 2020.

EHEA Ministerial Conference Documents

The Ministerial Communiqué represents one of the main political documents of the European Higher Education Area. The Bucharest Ministerial Communiqué takes account of the achievements since the last Ministerial conference in Leuven in 2009 and sets objectives that would be operationalised in the plan of work for the upcoming sequence of the Bologna Process. It is prepared by the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG).

Bucharest Communiqué 2012

The Mobility Strategy 2020 for the European Higher Education Area (EHEA): Mobility for Better Learning is a political document that will also be adopted by the EHEA ministers, together with the Ministerial Communiqué. It unfolds the measures for achieving the target set in Leuven/Louvain-la-Neuve that 20% of the EHEA students will be mobile in 2020. It was prepared by the Mobility Working Group and endorsed by the BFUG.

The reports listed above reflect the discussions of the Working Groups and Networks' members, according to the Terms of Reference adopted by the Bologna Follow-Up Group and the BFUG 2009-2012 Work Plan.

The Report on the Implementation of the Bologna Process provides facts and analyses on the state of the art regarding the implementation of the Bologna Process at national level at the end of 2011. It is based on questionnaires to the national authorities and on statistical evidence collected by data collectors (Eurostat, EURYDICE and Eurostudent). The report is prepared by the data collectors and the Reporting Working Group and endorsed by the BFUG. Its Executive Summary contains conclusions regarding the student experience in the EHEA.

The European Higher Education Area in 2012: Bologna Process Implementation Report

The "European Higher Education at the Crossroads: Between the Bologna Process and national reforms" publication gathers the papers presented and discussed at the "Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference", held in Bucharest on 17-19 October 2011. The two volumes are meant to provide inspiration to policy makers, as they provide insights from the point of view of researchers on the Bologna Process.
